Red Ribbon Week (October 26-30)

Next week is Red Ribbon week. Here's the schedule.

Monday: Wear Red. We'll decorate our school with red ribbons.

Tuesday: We'll sign a pledge to be drug free.

Wednesday: Drugs are Ridiculous - Wear a crazy outfit to school.

Thursday: Stay in the Game -Be Drug Free. Wear black and gold today.

Friday: Drugs are Scary. Wear your costume (no masks).

Pumpkins, Please?!

I am planning a continents project with pumpkins, but we are in need of pumpkins!! If you could possibly send any small (the cute little bitty) pumpkins, I would really appreciate it!! I'm hoping to at least get 9 (so we can pair up), but if I could get 19 (one for every student), that'd be awesome!!! We need them by the end of this week or beginning of next week.
*Someone told me these little pumpkins were for sale (at a good price) at Northside Grocery. I haven't looked there yet, but just thought I'd let you know that!* --- I checked with Northside - they have 50 cent pumpkins!!!!!

Field Trip

I apologize for the delay in field trip pictures! I was a little under the weather last week, but feeling much better.

Here we are waiting on Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs to start. It was a 3-D movie - we didn't just wear those cool glasses to the theater because they were so cute!

And here we are at Chuck E. Cheese. Boy, did we have fun eating pizza and cashing in those tickets!!

We had such a good time and everyone was so well-behaved! I'd take this crew anywhere with me!

Worms, Penguins, and Bar Graphs

We spent some time this week with worms! Yes, the real kind! We observed night crawlers and discussed their bodies, their slimy skin and how they breathe. And like all good scientists do, we recorded our observations...

We also spent time discussing and making bar graphs. We collected data from our classmates and made bar graphs to represent our data.

We read this great story this week called Penguin Chick. We learned a lot about penguins, and to wrap our penguin week up, what better movie to watch than Happy Feet?!

Chaperone Info

FIELD TRIP MONEY & PERMISSION FORM DUE BY SEPTEMBER 28TH!!!!!!!!
If you would like to chaperone the October 1st field trip, please have your child's form turned in by Thursday. We will put names in a hat and draw one chaperone to accompany us to the movie.
Remember: Any chaperone can meet us at Chucky Cheese -we are just limited to the number that we can take into the movie theater.

FYI: All students will be required to return to school on the bus with his or her class.
